Great stories of your Dad, Dave. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of him and see so much of you in him. Thinking about others. Not really caring about things but rather, people. Honest moments.

Thank you for sharing about your fine father. What a blessing to have such a dad.

Hi DAVE,

Sorry to have lost touch. I googled and was glad yo still have this site.

I just lost my older brother to cancer. So I really enjoyed reading about your DAD, even though I know you will miss him, a lot.

Dave:
Wally or "Fish" as my Dad affectionately called him, was like family to Mom, Dad, Melinda, Rosanne and me.
His kindness and ever willing spirit of making things better for others is his true hallmark. He was a renowned physician that could diagnose ailments over the phone like no other. I think we might have over used the free phone calls and diagnosis over the years.
The Summers at Colter Bay and the Tetons are some of my best childhood memories. Countless hours teaching kids to water ski, twilight boat rides to find amazing wildlife, and hot chocolate by a crackling fire as we talked and laughed - all made it so memorable. I will forever think of Wally when I am on Jackson Lake. I hope all is well with you and Yumiko. God Bless you and your family. - Des

Dave, so sorry for your loss. It is a beautiful piece of writing, he sounded like a great person and a wonderful father, something I think we all strive to be.

Wow. That really was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your perspective and experience. He was a great guy and will be missed even by those of us who didn't get to know him well enough. Your family is in my thoughts.

Sorry for your loss. We'll written, and makes me wish I'd have known him.

I hope my son writes something similar about me when the time finally comes. It would make me proud to have been a father, as I'm sure your dad was.

When you blog, Dave, you really mean it.

I agree fully with Tommy and Rick--a beautiful piece, for by all appearances a beautiful man. You're blessed, Dave, as are all of us who get to know a bit of his generosity through you. I'm sorry for your loss.
